TeleOps360
🟢 Live URLLivestream 360 Camera Feed to VR Headset
Overview
Livestream RICOH Theta V 360 video to Unity 3D and HTC Vive VR headset. A project done with Real Robotics at the University of Leeds.
Contribution
For TeleOps360, I developed a near real-time 360° teleoperation and immersive visualisation system that streamed video from the RICOH Theta V into Unity 3D and displayed it through an HTC Vive VR headset with minimal distortion. I built and configured the full software–hardware pipeline, including Unity scene development, SteamVR integration, device calibration, and custom scripting for accurate camera detection and streaming. I also optimised the VR environment by adjusting the inverted Blender sphere for correct spatial rendering, ensuring that users experienced a stable 360° environment aligned with real-world movements. In addition, I produced detailed setup instructions and troubleshooting documentation, enabling others to reliably reproduce and extend the system. This work directly contributed to remote robot telepresence research at Real Robotics, University of Leeds, providing a foundational tool for immersive teleoperation experiments.
